There are many roads out there. You have to plan your trips. Prepare your baggage, your maps and your itinerary. Sometimes, everything goes smoothly and you arrive at your destination based on what you have planned for. Yet sometimes, you come to a crossroad and you need to make a decision.

Shall I take the road to my left and head down west? Shall I take the road to my right and head to the east? Maybe I need to go straight and find out where the road leads to. Or maybe I need to turn back to where I came from where I know what awaits me. The decision you make for this journey will be influenced by your experiences and your expectations.


Starting a new career


Some people may choose to start a brand new career. This is what we now see happening around us. With the pandemic forcing most people to stay indoors to avoid being infected, one has to choose how to spend the hours within the confines of the home. Luckily, a lot people discovered their hidden talents. A lot of new dishes were born like baked sushi, ube cheese pandesal and all sorts of experimental dishes. People earned from preparing these dishes and people who missed dining out got to enjoy these new food, straight from their houses.


We can hear people talking about how these new sources of income helped them get by with their daily needs. Imagine, if they hadn't come up with these new ideas, how will they survive? People thought the government is capable of extending support to the families whose breadwinner just got unemployed because their bosses could no longer pay their salaries. For sometime the government did help. But not for long. There just isn't enough funds that can be provided.


Social Media World


People however, started to be self-reliant. And to top it all, they realized that more audience can be reached with the help of the world wide web through social media. Before, if your products are good, your customer will tell their seven friends and these seven friends when they get to experience the taste of your product, will each tell their seven friends. Now, with the help of social media, if a customer felt they have spent their hard-earned money wisely on your products, they will tell their 200 friends and maybe at least 50 of them will try your products too. Then if they like it, they will tell their 500 friends and so on and so forth.


One important aspect that needs to be addressed is the way the marketing strategies are presented to the target market. We need to create awareness of the existence of the product. We need to let people know that we have something interesting to offer to them. The idea may not come across to them the first time so we need to remind them from time to time. Which leads us to another aspect which is the frequency of exposure.


Ideas need to presented in a manner that will be appealing to the audience. Because we have different audiences, we also need to have different ways of communicating. What works for the young audience may not work well with the older ones and vice versa. We need to have different services and learn along the way what will be the right concoction.
